Edgar da Rocha Marques

Edgar da Rocha Marques holds a degree in Philosophy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1985), a Master’s in Philosophy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1989) and a Ph.D. in Philosophy – Universität Konstanz (1995). He is currently a full professor at the State University of Rio de Janeiro. Executive Editor of the journal Analytica since August 2007. He coordinated, between 2015 and 2016, the Probral Capes-Daad Concept, Perception, Purpose, which brought together researchers from UERJ and the Technische Universität Berlin. Member of the Red Iberoamericana Leibniz. He was President of ANPOF in the 2009-2010 Biennium. He was on the Philosophy Area Committee at CNPq between 2013 and 2016. He was assistant coordinator of the philosophy area at Capes between 2016 and 2018. He has experience in the area of Philosophy, with an emphasis on Philosophy of Language, working mainly on the following topics: metaphysics, Leibniz, Wittgenstein, History of Philosophy and Modern Philosophy
