Márcia Cristina Ferreira Gonçalves holds a BA in Philosophy from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (1985), a Masters in Philosophy from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (1991), a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the Freie Universität Berlin (1996), post-doctorate in Philosophy from the Universität Albert-Ludwig Freiburg (2009), post-doctorate in Philosophy from the Technische Universität Berlin (2015). She is a Full Professor at the Department of Philosophy at the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ). She is a member of the Brazilian Hegel Society (SHB), the International Schelling Society (Internationnalle Schelling-Gesellschaft) and the ANPOF Hegel and Aesthetics GTs. She is a CNPq Scientific Productivity researcher. She has experience in the area of Philosophy, with an emphasis on Philosophy of Nature and Philosophy of Art, working mainly on the following themes: German Idealism, Hegel and Schelling. She is the author of the books “The Beautiful and the Destiny. An Introduction to Hegel’s Philosophy” (Loyola, 2001) and “Philosophy of Nature” (Step by Step Collection. Zahar, 2006), translator of the “Aphorisms on Philosophy of Nature”, de Schelling and author of several book chapters and articles in indexed philosophy journals on German idealism, philosophy of nature, and philosophy of art.
